Newsfeed: IFEMA Madrid and FundaciĆ³n para el Conocimiento madrid renew their alliance to organise Madrid es Ciencia (Madrid is Science) 2023

The event will take place during EDUCATION WEEK at the Recinto Ferial at IFEMA MADRID from 23-25 March.

IFEMA MADRID and Fundación para el Conocimiento madri+d have taken the first step to co-organising the MADRID ES CIENCIA 2023 Feria from 23 to 25 March, with support from the Community of Madrid, through its Vice-Presidency, Department of Education and Universities. The event, whose motto is “Building a sustainable future”, is aimed at school communities and the general public and will take place in the framework of EDUCATION WEEK, Spain’s leading education exhibition at the Recinto Ferial at the Madrid Fair Institution.

Showing a firm commitment to promote and bring scientific culture closer to the community, the organisations have signed a cooperation agreement to organise the 23rd  MADRID ES CIENCIA (Madrid is Science) Fair. The agreement was signed by the General Manager of IFEMA MADRID, Juan Ignacio Arrizabalaga Azurmendi; Director of the Fundación para el Conocimiento madri+d Federico Moran Abad, and its manager Maria Jesus Garcia-Alarilla.

MADRID ES CIENCIA is on a mission to promote scientific vocations by eliminating gender barriers and communicating science and innovation that takes place in our region to stimulate young people's interest and curiosity in science and show how research influences the economic development and well-being of society.

Get into Science!

MADRID ES CIENCIA will present a comprehensive overview of the R&D+i capabilities of the Community of Madrid to build a sustainable future, showing citizens the response that Science, Technology and Innovation can give to the challenges of the planet. The entire talent value chain in our region – schools and colleges, research centres, innovative companies, universities and institutions – will be represented at the event.

The main distinguishing feature of the Fair is that the students themselves will be the protagonists, taking on the role of scientists and explaining science to visitors, with the objective of consolidating cooperative work, creativity, entrepreneurship, critical use of information and alternative learning methods among the students of Madrid. MADRID ES CIENCIA aims to be an interactive and participatory experience for visitors through a perfect symbiosis between students, scientific institutions, schools, colleges and companies.

MADRID ES CIENCIA has joined the other EDUCATION WEEK 2023 events, which include the 31st International Education Opportunities Exhibition, AULA; the 27th International Educational Equipment and Teaching Resources Show, INTERDIDAC Espacio R.E.D.; the 14th INTERNATIONAL HIGHER EDUCATION AND ONGOING TRAINING FAIR, the 21st International Congress and Professional Fair EXPOELEARNING and the fourth SCHOOLS DAY “Family and School Day”.
